CHINESE CALLIGRAPHY AND WINE…?? WHY NOT?!

Last week end we had a fantastic experience with a group of chines calligraphers coming from all over Italy.

They have organised a seminary concerning Chinese calligraphy and wine possible links. The headmaster Paola Billi e Nicola Piccioli have created charming calligraphic artwork thanks to the wine secret’s founded in the poet’s mind.

We all staff members have discovered a group of people in the meanwhile friendly and uninformal such as concentrated, passionfull and quiet during the lessons. They were gone through another dimension, far away to the surrounded environment. But the curiosity are not finish! That thanks to the really interesting and unusual instruments used: precious paint brushes, black ink, magic seal…

During this seminary, they don’t paint simple symbol, bat the concept that the symbol itself express. Their huge sensibility transform this concept and symbol in real artwork…. Such as from a simple brunch of grape, what we will find in a glass is transformed in sensations, pleasure and thinking. In both cases, the artists don’t stop only in front of the visual and/or odour appearance, but they are looking always for the real essence of them.

Olives and fresh oil

Monday we will finish the olive harvest and the next weekend we will be ready with the new oil. As soon as the press will be able to determine their quality. Talk to you soon after the tasting!

AGRIeTOUR is the annual appointment in Arezzo of reference for the Italian farm. We will present next Friday, 13th November.
This is an event of national significance for the meeting with the professional market. Its purpose is: to enhance the sector and the rural culture of hospitality, to promote technical upgrading, training, technology and supplies.

Slow Wine 2011

We were rewarded from Slow Wine for our Vernaccia di San Gimignano and its excellent value for money. We were included in the new Slow Wine guide 2011 and will be presented 13th November at Montacino.

Goblets of Stars

On 10 August last year we attended the event “Goblets of Stars 2010” held in San Gimignano.We offered a tasting of our wines together with other professionals, but there have been other pleasant entertainment.

The event takes place on the night of San Lorenzo, the night of the shooting stars and can not be all that magical. This year has also been featured widely in the environment and eco-sustainability, trying to involve all the wine producers.

The harvest ist over

The past winter was marked by rain and cold, all this has slowed the development of vines. the summer climate ensures an increase in the final product. We just finished the harvest and wait anxiously to “taste” new wine (visit our product page).
After pruning, the vines take the typical Tuscan winter, with its special designs. See our harvest!

Waiting for saffron

Here, in Tuscany, saffron flowers towards the last half of October. We are waiting for this moment for collection of flowers.

Saffron is an extraordinary plant used especially in the kitchen to prepare delicious recipes, like that of risotto alla Milanese. Do you want to learn it? Here is a nice video:

First Prize at Boccaccesca

Our wine Luenzo won the award for best red wine made from Sangiovese, during the famous exhibition “The Boccaccesca” that took place in Certaldo at 2nd October.
The characteristics of this wine can be found on this card.
For us it was a real satisfaction, and we want to share it with you.
